Calling all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders! Share your ideas and show off your civics knowledge.
About The Bee
The RAMAC Foundation is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a nonpartisan civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Participating 6th, 7th and 8th graders will flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes.
First, essays must be submitted and judges will select 20 finalists to go to the live event. At the live event, the finalists will be given 2 rounds of questions to test their civics knowledge.
Essays must be submitted online. The essay portal is now open! Deadline to submit is Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
The top 3 winners from Racine’s live event will receive cash prizes and will be invited to the state level event and could even go all the way to Washington, DC to compete in the national championship.
How To Enter
Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student residing in Wisconsin with an idea about using civics to improve their community may submit an essay to participate in one local competition in the state. Students should review the essay guide below.
The application portal opened on October 15, 2024, and will close on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
The 2025 national CIVICS BEE EVENT in racine will be held on saturday, April 5, 2025, at THE CASE HIGH SCHOOL THeatre.
The 20 finalists chosen from the essay submissions will be invited to the live event.
After three rounds at the live Bee, the top 3 winners will be awarded with cash prizes and trophies and will be eligible to move to the state competition in Madison on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
• First place: $500 cash prize
• Second place: $250 cash prize
• Third place: $125 cash prize

Through the National Civics Bee, we are promoting greater civic knowledge in the greater Racine area and celebrating our civic pride.
